UCF baseball got back on track with a 10-3 win at home over the University of North Florida Ospreys on Tuesday.
Redshirt senior second baseman Tom Josten continued his red-hot start to the season for UCF, going 2-3 with two home runs and six RBIs. Josten hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Knights a 7-1 lead.
Josten has hit nine home runs and driven in 22 RBIs. Josten leads UCF (9-3) in both stats.
Redshirt junior third baseman Andrew Brait also had a big day at the plate, going 3-5 with two RBIs. Sophomore left fielder Lex Boedicker was 2-4 with a home run, and sophomore catcher Andrew Sundean also drove in a run.
Through 12 games, the Knights are averaging just under nine runs a game and have scored at least 10 runs in five of them.
Sophomore right-hander Dom Stagliano steadied a pitching staff that allowed an average of just over 12 runs per game in its three-game series against Georgia Southern. He pitched six innings and allowed just one run to earn the win.
UCF will return to John Euliano Park on Friday to start a three-game series against the Troy Trojans at 6 p.m.
