The UCF Police Department confirmed the death of 19-year-old UCF student Alyssa Michelle Lewis after she was found unresponsive by emergency responders in her Lake Claire apartment on Tuesday morning.

Lewis was found around 10:35 a.m., after family members were unable to contact her and called 911, according to a release from UCFPD.

Police have not yet determined cause of death.

"We offer our most sincere sympathies to Alyssa's family and loved ones, and we will make all of our resources available to support them," said Adrienne Frame, UCF's associate vice president and dean of students in a release.

Lewis was a student from Jacksonville, in her fourth semester at UCF.

UCF spokeswoman Courtney Gilmartin said counselors and victim advocates were on scene, available as a resource. UCF Counseling Services are available at 407-823-2811, for free.

UCFPD is currently investigating with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. There is no suspicious activity or threat to campus expected at this time.
