The American Athletic Conference announced in a statement that it is canceling the men's basketball championship.

Commissioner Mike Aresco said that the 2020 Air Force Reserve Men's Basketball Championship will not be played due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The championship was scheduled to take place March 12-15 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Four games were scheduled for today including the UCF men's basketball team's match-up against the USF bulls.

The statements reads: "The decision was made in consultation with the Conference's leadership in the light of recent developments regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This is a proactive decision to protect the safety, health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff and all involved with the tournament."
