The UCF Student Government Association announced the Senate election has been moved to Oct. 2 through Oct. 4.

SGA also announced the due date for students who wish to run must now turn in their Declaration of Candidacy forms by Sept. 25. The original date to turn in these forms was Sept. 13.

The 50th SGA Senate election was originally planned to be from Sept. 25 to Sept 27. However, due to campus closing for Hurricane Irma, the dates have been moved back a week.

Students who are running for Senate may begin actively campaigning with signs, distributing buttons, etc. immediately after submission and approval of their Declaration of Candidacy.

In order to run for Senate, all declared candidates must have attended one informational session. The last session took place on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. at The Hub, in the Student Union.

The last meeting of the 49th UCF SGA Senate was held Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Key West Ballroom, on the second floor of the Student Union. Meetings are open to the public and begin with a public forum.
