PHOTOS: The return of BHC's Family Field Day
Events like Family Field Day provide Burnett Honors College students, faculty and alumni with a way to connect not only with their own families but with those they have created at UCF as well.
Joey Asti, Family Field Day's coordinator, said he was proud to know that his hard work was going toward something that would help create such special memories for families. Other students and faculty members weighed in on how their experiences within the BHC have helped shape them and benefitted their time as a whole at UCF. BHC's Family Field Day was on Feb. 5.
Burnett Honors College faculty members grill hot dogs and hamburgers during the event. A separate snack table was set up with chips, cookies and drinks.
Pegasus, ridden by Janey Heffernan, is one of UCF's official mascots. Heffernan said she noticed a lot of people excited to see both Pegasus and Knugget at Family Field Day.
The Burnett Honors College hosted a celebratory afternoon of fun and games for the families of students, faculty and alumni on Feb. 5.
Ducks, chickens and goats play with students and faculty at the Family Field Day's petting zoo.
Knightro's appearance at Family Field Day was a hit. Honors scholars, faculty and their families were able to take photos with Knightro as he paraded around the BHC.
The petting zoo and pony ride area drew in many younger family members. Children were able to ride the pony around the Pegasus statue.
Knugget met some other furry friends while at Family Field Day. BHC students, faculty and alumni were encouraged to bring their families to the outdoor event, making it pet-friendly as well.
The petting zoo draw in a lot of attention from families as their children and friends play with the animals. Joey Asti, Family Field Day's coordinator, said that the petting zoo is his favorite part of the event.
Family Field Day attendees were encouraged to take photos with Knightro while at the event.
