Health and wellness are often overlooked aspects of college life. As we rush from one obligation to another, we tend to neglect the needs of our bodies in favor of the hurried lifestyle typical for college students. Eating bad, drinking too much, not getting enough sleep and anxiety—they all catch up to us at some point. Whether you need good advice or a full medical checkup, UCF Health Services has you covered.

UCF Health Services offers four essential services that are both affordable and convenient: the Health Center, the Women’s Clinic, UCF Dental Center and Pharmacy & Knight Aide.

• The Health Center services include primary care, radiology, allergy and dietitian services, a laboratory, psychiatry and sports medicine.

• The Women’s Clinic provides preventative care, contraception counseling and prescribing, vaccinations, Pap testing, pregnancy screening and counseling, among other women’s healthcare services.

• The UCF Dental Center provides affordable dental services from preventive care to emergency care. These services include fillings, crowns, root canals, teeth extractions, oral cancer screenings and teeth whitening.

• UCF has two pharmacies on campus—one in the Health Center and Knight Aide in Knight’s Plaza by the Arena. Both offer full pharmacy services, toiletries and snack items.

In addition to the medical services offered on campus, UCF also has a Counseling and Psychological Services Center where students can receive assistance with stress management, grief counseling and a myriad of other mental health services.

As part of their program, the Counseling and Psychological Services Center offers group counseling and workshops on a variety of topics each semester. They are open to all students and free to join.

Where to Go: The Health Center is located on the southeast corner of campus near the Libra residence halls. The Counseling center is right behind the Health Center.

What to Bring: Most services will require a UCF student ID and an appointment. For health center appointments call 407-823-3850. For Counseling appointments call 407-823-2811. For Dental appointments call 407-823-1635

When to Go: The Health Center spring hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Dental Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Counseling office hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: Both healthcare and counseling visits are offered to current UCF students at no charge. There are nominal fees in the health center for additional services, such as lab work and vaccinations. Bring your health insurance card with you, so the center can determine what is and isn’t covered under your insurance. There is also a UCF-endorsed insurance—United Health Care Student—for students with no health insurance coverage.

Dental services are fee-based, and the clinic accepts cash, credit card, check and most PPO dental plans (including UCF Dental PPO insurance).

UCF tuition includes healthcare fees, so why not take advantage of these services? You’ve already paid for them, and at some point you’re going to need them. College life is stressful and sometimes that leaves us feeling awful. Give UCF Health Services a call. If anyone can help you get started on the road back to being healthy, it’s these guys!
